Situated within a former firehouse, this artist residency concept was developed as part of a New York School of Interior Design studio project and imagined for Holly Herndon — an artist working at the intersection of AI, art, and music. The proposed residency aims to teach artists-in-residence how to create bespoke machine learning models with generative visual and vocal outcomes. Just as traditional art and real voices form the foundation for AI-generated work, this interior design concept incorporates raw materials and honors the building’s traditional architectural elements, all with an ethereal twist.
